JOB SUMMARY: The Automation Account Manager is responsible for the growth and profitability of Triad’s Automation products and technologies and working closely with account managers and engineering to design and deliver customer applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: 2 years technical degree, 4-year college degree preferred.
2. Experience: Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Licensures and Certifications: Valid driver’s license and insurability
4. Knowledge/Skills: Incumbent must be able to successfully navigate in Windows software applications and on the Internet (CRM familiarity helpful). Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills essential. Must be comfortable speaking in front of customers and fellow employees. Must present a professional demeanor.
5. Technical Development: Ability to navigate in various software systems. Must be able to interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.
6. Mathematical Development: Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure, calculate percentages, etc.
7. Language Development: Ability to read manuals, reports, follow workplace rules and procedures. Be able to present information in a group setting or via various media formats.
8. Reasoning Development: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

Interpersonal Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the manufacturer and champions the vision, benefits, and market opportunities of the product line.
- Build and strengthen relationships with current customers to assure that accounts remain successful and profitable. Identifies upcoming projects, changes within the account and key contacts to develop opportunities as well as establish long-term, ongoing relationships.
- Works collaboratively across the organization and serves as a conduit for ensuring customers’ needs are met. When required, resolves escalated issues, and works to remedy all complaints or disputes.
- Share information and best practices with peers and assist with developing solutions.
Operational Responsibilities
- Execute account plans and acts on opportunities with current customers and expands Triad’s presence within the account. Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the return on investment of time for the account.
- Manage product performance plans and works with manufacturers to achieve product line goals. Participates in customers visits, assists with developing a clear understanding of customer requirements and consults with on product applications.
- Representative areas of responsibility include owning component functionality and how products should be applied to support customer solutions; determining the right products for customer applications; serving as the liaison between engineering and the customer; and assisting with the design and delivery of compelling customer solutions that are achievable.
- Utilize consultative selling skills to qualify customer requirements and potential ROI of targeted accounts.
- Coordinates the flow of information between the customer, engineering, logistics and technical service groups. Communicates project concept and ensures the customer’s scope of work is clearly understood.
- Present proposals to customers and follow up to move open opportunities through the sales funnel and close new business.
- Follow up with customers post project to handle inquiries and serves as a resource.
- Proactively seeks out customer feedback and provides the management team reports that identify their needs, challenges, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Maintain CRM database, files, and other necessary documentation to support the sales and marketing function.
- Track opportunity pipeline for assigned product lines and works with sales to implement strategies for meeting revenue goals.
- Participate in trade shows, open houses, and other activities for promoting the Triad in the marketplace.
- Perform customers visits to observe products in use, solicit feedback, and gain a deep understanding of the customer experience.
- Serve as an expert with respect to the competition.
- Monitor competitors’ products and services, research current industry practices, and look for opportunities for the business to grow and sustain a competitive advantage.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Analyze the territory/market potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers.
- Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, and competitive activities. Provides feedback on competitors, selling strategies, untapped opportunities, threats and what is working and not working in the marketplace.
- Prepare monthly expense reports and respect the company’s guidelines for expenses.
- Evaluate marketing plans to ensure they are consistent with the product line strategy and the message is effectively conveyed.
