Full-Time/Regular The Automation and Controls Engineer is a crucial role
within the manufacturing department, directly supporting equipment and
processes across all facility operations. This highly technical position
requires an in-depth understanding of electrical systems and automation
technology, alongside a forward-thinking approach to drive continuous
improvement. The engineer will lead the development and implementation
of automation projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, efficiency,
and overall productivity. Provide expert daily support for automation
and controls across all manufacturing processes and equipment. Design
and develop automation systems to improve safety, quality, delivery, and
productivity. Lead the concept development, project scoping, budgeting,
and implementation of automation solutions, ensuring business
justifications are sound. Evaluate and maintain automation technology to
ensure systems remain up to date, replacing obsolete devices as needed.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers on automation-related
projects, assisting with design specifications. Drive technical research
and problem-solving efforts related to automation and control systems.
Recommend and justify capital investments in new automation equipment.
Lead and support initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs through
innovative practices and lean manufacturing techniques. Support
production process improvements, ensuring adherence to quality control
guidelines and engineering specifications. Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS BS in an Electrical or Electronics Engineering field
preferred 5 - 7 years' experience in an automation engineer role
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and ANSI codes and regulations. Advanced
PLC programming skills with Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, and
Giddings & Lewis systems. Experience in advanced programming and
troubleshooting of robotic material handling and welding systems
including Yaskawa and ABB. Solid PC and software familiarity, including
Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and modern ERP systems.
Effective oral and written communication skills. Required Experience Are
