Automation/Controls Engineer - Gpac

About the Job
Our client is a growth-oriented organization who fosters a friendly workplace. They are looking for their next Automation/Controls Engineer to join a talented team using the latest technologies to provide innovative solutions for their clients. You will design, implement, and configure new automation systems, upgrade older machinery, and enhance existing manufacturing lines in various industries.
Responsibilities:
- Design switchgear controls and control panels in accordance with customer specifications, internal specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Ensure projects are designed and built to applicable UL and ANSI standards
- Select components, create BOM and CAD drawings that meet customer requirements and internal standards for production/manufacturing processes
- Reduce component material and labor cost through new designs and processes, provide technical support to assembly personnel.
- Create vendor PO’s and follow up on delivery.
- Provide the selection and setting of protective relays and controllers.
- Improve process flow to reduce labor hours, create production schedule and reduce WIP.
- Write PLC programs to meet project functional requirements.
- Write operator interface (HMI) programs for system control and metering.
- Write operating sequences. Assist with creating project submittals and O&M Manuals.
- Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
- Create test procedures and programs as required
Requirements:
- Already residing in Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
- BS degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical or Mechanical) required.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills required
- Skilled at using Microsoft Office and Autocad software.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Willingness to work long hours and learn.
