The Role:
Assist the Automation Controls Engineers with maintaining the reliability and efficiency of automated systems guaranteeing 24/7 production on the KPI level, warehouse distribution and other processes to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure the safety and productivity of the facility within assigned shifts which will include but not limited to maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of the control systems.
Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):
- Maintain and monitor the reliability and efficiency of the control systems by troubleshooting and repairing the control systems down to the component level and making sure the control systems are operating within specified parameters.
- Install, commission, test, and debug new control systems and/or individual control system components (panel devices and/or field devices).
- Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation such as flow, pressure, level, and temperature transmitters/transducers.
- Read and understand complex control systems schematics.
- Redline and update control systems schematics.
- Assist the automation controls engineers with continuous improvement of the automation processes, which would include identifying areas for efficiency gains, cost reductions, and quality improvements.
- Assist the automation controls engineers with creating and modifying PLC code and HMI interfaces to meet evolving operational requirements and standards.
- Assist the automation controls engineers with executing preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of automation equipment, which will include regular inspections and component replacements.
- Assist automation controls engineers with training other personnel, including maintenance staff and operators, on the proper operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems.
- Other related duties as assigned by the automation controls manager or shift automation controls engineer.
You bring:
- High school diploma or GED or associate's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related.
- 3+ years of professional experience in the field of automation technology or in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Relevant expertise in the fields of controls and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens/Beckhoff (PLC programming, control systems troubleshooting, and HMI/SCADA systems), industrial networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT), instrumentation, and other automation technologies is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assist with troubleshooting complex automation issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards relevant to the organization's operations.
- Language skills: English
