Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team, working with both Engineered-to-Order (ETO) and Modernization teams to provide custom software and hardware solutions in the crane manufacturing sector. This role involves hands-on work, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and software updates to ensure our equipment meets high performance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customize and optimize crane control systems using existing software modules.
- Support factory acceptance testing, equipment commissioning, and lifecycle management for material handling equipment.
- Modify and update PLC software based on customer specifications.
- Monitor and design replacements for outdated automation components.
- Work closely with engineering teams and service technicians to resolve control and software-related issues.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for onsite troubleshooting and support.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
- Experience:
- Proven background as an Automation Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Siemens PLC and HMI programming.
- Familiarity with variable frequency drives and control systems for material handling equipment.
- Understanding of NEC electrical code and OSHA safety standards.
- Travel Requirement: Ability to travel up to 25%, domestically and internationally.
Preferred:
- Experience in crane manufacturing.
- Proficiency in setting up and managing variable frequency drives for material handling devices.
