Job Title: Automation Engineer
Function: Physical Flows
Division: Consumer Products Division
Location: Walton, KY
Reports To: Technical Manager
What You Will Do:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for the Cimcorp robotic systems on site. This employee will deep dive into the logic and programming of the system to investigate problems that may arise and continuously improve the operational efficiency of the systems in partnership with the vendor. The responsibilities encompass not just the technical support, but also the follow up and documentation/training as needed for the onsite teams.
• Analyze, debug, design, and program the automation software to determine optimal programming to operate consistently and efficiently.
• Develop, test, evaluate and deploy software features on existing automation under the guidance of the vendor to help continuously improve the operational effectiveness of the Cimcorp automation.
• Document and communicate any changes made to the systems and train teams accordingly.
• Safety Completes and assists with safety validations of site equipment; maintains a clean and orderly work area; assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of applicable experience required
• Degree specializing in Software Engineering/Mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated experience working with computer network protocols, high and low level programming languages and servo drives in an industrial/automation industry
• Experience programming automation components, HMIs and material handling robots is considered an asset.
• Skill set including experience with some of: Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft Transact SQL, PLC programming languages, .NET Framework, Visual Basic, ASi Safety systems, hardware configurations, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings and integrating automation technologies.
• Strong computer and TCP/IP networking skills required in addition to knowledge of integration of systems with servo motors, including electrical, and software integration in industrial environments.
Required Competencies:
• Must have availability to work flexible hours dependent on operational need.
• Must demonstrate 100% responsibility.
• Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a multifaceted environment.
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn new operations / technologies.
