Automation Engineering & Design Manager
About the Role:
Judge Direct Placement is actively partnered with a client in the supply chain seeking an Automation Engineering & Design Manager to spearhead projects centered around planning, design and full cycle implementation of automatic robotic systems within facilities.
This role is based in the Charlotte Suburbs, with 30% travel, and hybrid work schedule to allow for flexibility to complete necessary projects in various settings.
Lead a team of engineers and project managers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation systems across a large-scale network. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and execute automation strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- Team Leadership: Manage a diverse team of engineers and project managers.
- Project Management: Oversee automation projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with automation vendors.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and implement new automation technologies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
- Budget Management: Manage a significant capital budget for automation initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements through automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in automation engineering roles.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of automation technologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a significant budget and prioritize projects effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience in the grocery or retail industry.
- Certification in project management or automation engineering.
