Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Program automation and controls systems using PLCs (programmable logic controllers).
- PLC logic and programming the Allen Bradley PLC; must be able to create, read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing and start-up.
- Create panel design and layout, bill of materials and wiring schematic capabilities.
- Machining, drilling, sawing may be required.
- Travel for installs and field repairs as required.
- Follow Company policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Manual.
- Follow all International Standards that apply to IEPs certifications and QMS.
- Follow Company Safety rules and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
- Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education /Skills /Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
- Successful completion of 90-day probationary period required for continued employment.
- 3 to 5 years of Automation experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
- Good organization and prioritization skills required.
- Time Management skills required with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong Initiative and drive for Continuous Improvement.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Administrative & Record Keeping skills.
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including MS Word & Excel 2007 or 2010.
- Ability to read and create blueprints, schematics, drawings, & specifications.
- Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming the Allen Bradley PLC; must be able to create, read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing and start-up. Experience with logic auto-generation from templates is a plus.
- Experience reading and red-lining PI&D drawings.
- Willing to do assembly as needed not only to the electrical controls but the mechanical build and necessary.
- Experience in SolidWorks is a plus!
- PC, PLC, & HMI Programming. Specifically, Allen Bradley, RS Logix 500 + RS Logix 5000, Mitsubishi GX Developer, Visual Basic 6, & Visual C# is a plus!
- Experience in Design works is a plus!
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment including pneumatics, motors, sensors, and machine vision systems. Specifically, DVT, Keyence and Cognex Vision Systems is a plus!
