Sterling Engineering is looking for an Automation Maintenance Technician for a company that manufactures electric car parts in St. Charles, IL. This is a great opportunity to work with an industry leader that has great benefits!
Job Duties:
- Monitors, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs machine problems with manufacturing engineering and production supervisors.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Uses advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills for problem assessment.
- Applies PLC diagnostics and programming skills effectively.
- Assists in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, collaborating with production supervisors.
- Trains production operators in performing simple preventative maintenance tasks.
- Helps maintain equipment spare parts inventory and may initiate purchase requisitions for spare parts.
- Investigates causes of machine issues, raw materials, and tooling; suggests process and equipment improvements.
- Documents new procedures, machine changes, and additions accurately.
- Creates special fixtures or modifies equipment using surface grinders, milling machines, arc welders, and lathes.
- Utilizes diagnostic equipment like voltmeters, calipers, micrometers, and oscilloscopes.
- Supports the company's management and quality systems, including efforts for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years' equipment maintenance technician in an automated assembly production environment
- Education: High School or Equivalent
- Ability to operate / diagnose a variety of automated assembly production equipment within an electronics assembly (PLC's, sensing, robots pick/place)
- Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment operating under PLC’s, robotics, machining, pneumatics, hydraulics, and sensor controls
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with strong time and project management skills
- Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel)
