Automation Technician - Cross Technologies

Description

The Automation Technician position consists of the building, testing, and installation of automated systems for multiple projects active within our organization.

Essential Functions

1. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
2. Basic use of hand tools for mechanical and electrical assembly.
3. Interacts with our customers as needed.
4. Interacts with our sales and engineering staff as needed.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience

1. A two year technical degree or equivalent related experience is preferred.
2. Electrical and mechanical background needed.
3. Manufacturing experience would be an asset, but not required.

Knowledge Required

1. General math skills and problem solving abilities.
2. General computer skills including internet-based tools.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Specific Attributes

1. Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements

1. The work environment varies from a typical office environment to a plant site environment.
2. Occasional overnight travel required.
3. Sitting or standing for long periods of time as needed.
4. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
5. Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
6. Overtime may be required.
7. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes will be provided as necessary.
