Position Overview:
Automotive service advisors are professionals who liaise between customers and the auto technicians working on their vehicles. They identify the need for, sell, and schedule service work. When taking your car in for repair, this is often the first person you will come into contact with when arriving to bring your vehicle in for service.
This position is commission-based, and income opportunity ranges from $60,000 - $90,000 annually

- When under pressure, you maintain a positive attitude with customers, peers, and management
- You thrive on educating customers on proper care for their vehicles
- You have 2+ years of service experience in an automotive dealership
Essential Functions:
- Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner, and let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon
- Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems
- Secure customer agreement before repairs are started, cover the cost estimate, and approximate time when the vehicle's work will be completed.
- Obtain customer and vehicle data.
- Schedule appointments using dealership-approved forms
- Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles by the manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus
- When necessary, communicate the need for additional work, explain the details to the customer, including the extra cost and time consideration, and document correctly on the repair order.
- Follow up on the progress of each repair order during the day and contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised.
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and return phone messages promptly
- Interpret warranty information and policies for customers
- Advise customers of parts ordered and make an appointment to have them installed before the customer leaves
- Assist the service manager as necessary
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in the automotive industry (1+ years of dealership experience)
- Valid in-state driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
