Automotive/Fleet Mechanic with Small Engine Experience preferred - Clarke

We're looking for an automotive/fleet mechanic who is passionate about providing exceptional internal and external customer support with respect to the maintenance and repair of Clarke's mosquito and aquatics equipment!
This position will be based out of Clarke's regional headquarters office in Kissimmee, FL and will support the company's Florida region in the repair and annual maintenance of Clarke's service operation vehicles and equipment.

This is a position with a fantastic opportunity for personal growth! In addition to servicing Clarke's fleet of vehicles at 5 locations, over the course of the first year or so, the mechanic will be trained to provide technical customer support in the form of phone calls, troubleshooting, assessment, and repair of Clarke manufactured gas and electric powered machines used in the mosquito control industry.
The mechanic will be expected to travel on occasion (approx. 25% of the year) to Clarke's other 15 service locations and customer offices to provide onsite troubleshooting and repair as needed.
Position will require use of own basic tools.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicates with Customers, Mechanics, Sales, Customer Care and Operations Teams as appropriate to resolve equipment operation or malfunction.
- Troubleshoots, identifies and repairs malfunctions in trucks, cars, boats, ATV's and other equipment.
- Assists with engineering and welding projects as requested.
- Keeps accurate reports and logs of calls taken, work performed and parts inventory via Fleetio and Smartflow applications.
- Actively seeks ways to improve the quality and efficiency of operations within department and throughout organization.
- Participates in and engages in programs and work practices designed to foster and maintain effective team atmosphere.
- Responsible for making sure safe work practices and procedures are followed at all times.
Successful Candidate Must:
- 3-5 years previous recent automotive mechanic experience, fleet experience preferred
- Previous small engine repair experience strongly preferred
- ASE certificates strongly preferred with ability to obtain all 8 within 2 years of employment
- Exceptional technical aptitude, organization skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound business acumen
- Demonstrated effective project management skills
- Practical knowledge of electronics, must be able to operate a digital multi meter
- Creative ability to assist with fabricating improvements to equipment design, innovation and thinking "outside the box"
- Excellent phone manner and customer service skills
- Moderate computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Capability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and good physical dexterity
- Ability to pass necessary state licenses
- Ability to pass DOT physical required within first 14 days of employment
- Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
- Valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
- Ability to travel on short notice to meet the needs of the business
- Associates degree in related field (trade/vocational training) preferred or equivalent combination of education, ASE certificates and work experience preferred
- Possess high school level math skills
- Ability to effectively partner with cross functional teams to meet performance objectives and to support mission and vision of the Company
