About the Job
Automotive Service Director needed for high volume import dealership just outside of Boston. The Service Director hired will be responsible to oversee all service operations at this new car dealership and will report directly to the General Manager. This is a busy department with a good team in place but there is more opportunity than is being capitalized on which is why the dealer is seeking a motivated Service Director that sees the big picture and who actively strives to move the needle. The successful candidate is an energetic and organized Service Director who can bring energy and motivation to the department and ensure that the team is pushing for growth, upselling properly, and excited to hit their objectives. Good department that could be great with some minor tweaks and consistent focus.
Additionally, it is important that the Service Director hired is great at managing service technicians, ensuring that all customer vehicles are serviced in a timely and efficient manner, and that all work is performed to the highest standards. This is a great opportunity to take over a well-functioning store with true growth potential. Must be a hands-on Service Director that coaches and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, including scheduling and managing a team of service technicians.
- Monitor and control the flow of customer vehicles through the service department, ensuring timely completion of all work.
- Review and approve all service orders and repair estimates, and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with dealership standards.
- Monitor and maintain service department profitability, including setting and managing departmental budgets.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner, and ensure that all customer issues are resolved promptly and to their satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new products, and technical advances in automotive service, and ensure that all service technicians receive appropriate training and support.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Service Manager / Service Director or similar role in the automotive industry.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of service technicians and service writers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with industry trends and technical advances in automotive service.
Compensation:
-Competitive compensation package in the $175,000 range with room for growth.
