Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership – familiarizing yourself with the service department & procedures
- Assist Service Advisor in test-driving vehicles, and testing components and systems. Know how to use diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
- Ability to identify the problem quickly
- Good knowledge of automobiles
- Effective analytical and communication skills
- Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
- Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
- Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical degree preferred
- ASE certifications preferred
- Minimum of 2 years in service department
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic Computer Skills
- Positive, friendly attitude
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Pass a Background, Drug and MVR Check
