AV Service Technician
Washington, DC
Pay: $120,000+ per year
Active Secret clearance.
Proven experience in AV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of AV technologies, including video conferencing systems (e.g., Cisco, Poly), digital signage, audio systems, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Q-sys, Biamp, Extron).
Familiarity with government contracting and DoD-specific AV requirements.
Experience with secure video conferencing systems (e.g., VTC over classified networks).
Experience working in classified environments and following security protocols.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time, with travel durations ranging from 1 to 2 weeks.
MUST HAVE AN AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification
Networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
Industry Manufacturer Certifications (Crestron, Q-sys, Biamp, etc.) are a plus
DUTIES:
Configure, commission and test AV systems, including video conferencing, digital signage, sound systems, and control systems.
Conduct site surveys, assist in the development of AV designs, and provide technical support during the project lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with AV equipment and networking in real-time during field assignments.
Ensure AV systems meet security requirements and comply with relevant regulations, particularly in classified environments.
Collaborate with project managers, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Provide end-user training and post-installation support to ensure systems are used as designed.
Maintain detailed documentation, including installation manuals, system configurations, drawings, and technical reports.
Stay updated on the latest AV technology trends and best practices to enhance system performance, reliability, and overall mission success.
