As the General Manager, you'll lead daily lounge operations, driving a service standard that mirrors the premium Virgin Atlantic brand. From à la carte dining to a full-service bar, this upscale lounge environment requires a hands-on GM committed to guest satisfaction, quality service, and operational excellence.
The role includes an immersive cultural training experience with Virgin Atlantic, including a week at their headquarters in England and additional training at East Coast lounges like JFK. This is not just a management role but one where active participation in daily operations is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all lounge activities, ensuring premium service, high-quality food and beverages, and a welcoming guest experience.
- Financial Management: Meet financial targets, manage budgets, control costs, and align operations with Virgin Atlantic's business goals.
- Guest Experience: Maintain Virgin Atlantic's elite service standard through personalized guest interactions, managing a team dedicated to hospitality excellence.
- Team Development: Hire, train, and mentor staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and customer focus that reflects the Virgin Atlantic brand.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold health, safety, and regulatory standards, ensuring compliance with TSA and California's employment regulations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 5+ years in a General Manager or Director role within airport lounges, high-end hotels, private clubs, or upscale hospitality venues.
- Skills: Strong leadership skills with an ability to manage diverse teams, maintain client relations, and deliver high standards in guest experience.
- Operational Knowledge: Proficiency in food and beverage services, inventory systems, and menu management software.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing needs, handle multiple priorities, and take on additional tasks as required.
- Credentials: Must pass a TSA background check and obtain an LAX Airport Badge.
