We are seeking experienced Aviation Mechanic Technicians who are passionate about training the next generation of industry leaders. If you hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate and have hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, we want you on our team!
POSITION PURPOSE
Provide instruction in aviation maintenance technology to students according to policy of the Aviation Institute of Maintenance and in compliance with FAA, State, and regulatory body requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis, as assigned
- Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student file
- Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation, and all other required documentation and reports per established procedures
- Actively utilize proven student retention techniques approved by the school
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom or lab Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor
- Notify Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director of any current or potential problems which warrant attention
- Attend in-service training seminar, as required
- Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director, or as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student completed surveys
- Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in maintaining equipment used by the student
- Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in development curriculum related course materials and training aids
- Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education and/or Campus Executive Director.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, and prefer Associates Degree in Related Field Experience/Skills
- Minimum three (3) years hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).
- Must be able to demonstrate a command of theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, and continuing study in their field.
- Ability to teach a diverse student body in a curricula-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills. • Must have strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting. Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor
- Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel,
- Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusVue experience a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor.
