If you are, we need you!rnMRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Gateway HALO FCS on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are looking for the development of the Habitation systems and hardware for the Gateway vehicle and Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) module. HALO is the first pressurized module for NASA's Gateway, an outpost that will orbit the moon and provide a temporary home and workplace for astronauts. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration. rnAs a Systems Engineer - Gateway HALO FCS you will:rnrnPerform, review, and present architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall design and performancernPerform requirements decomposition and develop requirements for Level 3 (Habitation and Logistics module)rnDevelop verification and validation plans and statementsrnDevelop interface control documentsrnReview and provide comments on program documentationrnSupport trade studies or assessments on crew equipment, such as stowage containers, inventory management, etc.rnPresent to Gateway Program management, Johnson Space Center division management and chief engineersrnCoordinate with other Gateway system management teams including power, environmental control and life support, crew health and performance, etc.rnCoordinate with other programs including Orion and the Human Lander SystemrnWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for supportrnMay support various Advanced Exploration System (AES) Logistics Reduction (LR) projects. Examples include advanced clothing technologies, trash compaction, autonomous RFID inventory management, and othersrnPerform other duties as requiredrnrnHere's What You'll Need:rnRequisition Qualifications:rnrnBS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area- Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteriarnExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space systems including HabitationrnBasic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design of software and toolsrnAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetingsrnAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks and assess project needsrnFamiliarity with Microsoft Office productsrnrnRequisition Preferences:rnrnFamiliar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and proceduresrnExperience with spacecraft habitation systemsrnExperience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)rnExperience with Systems Engineering processes and techniquesrnrnProof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.rnMust be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.rnManagement has the prerogative to select at any level for which this position has been advertised.rnMRI Technologies is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
