Responsibilities:About the Role:
The AVP Cloud Data Analytics Architecture - Fleet will lead internal Data Engineers and external consultants in collaborating with stakeholders across functional boundaries to apply agile methods for the design, development and deployment of cloud-based data solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead data engineering and cloud data architecture development to deliver business solutions
- Deliver data engineering solutions using agile methods and standards set by the organization
- Translate business requirements and technical strategies into data architectures and processes
- Collaborate across technical and business functions to ensure alignment on business requirements, desired solutions, development methods, technical standards, and other considerations that relate to solution delivery cost, time, quality, and risk
- Architect the flow of data from transactional system to various stages of curation to enable analytics and deliver data solutions that support the delivery of business objectives
- Manage vendor development work to desired objectives and standards
- Collaborate in the establishment of data engineering standards and objectives that meet technical and business needs
- Establish and utilize data engineering performance metrics for data quality, timeliness, security, compliance, and other related matters
- Coach, mentor, and train cloud data architecture team members to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, accountability and compliance with department standards and objectives
- Assist leadership in determining the annual business plan and setting the budgetary requirements for the department and manage each plan to ensure compliance and completion
- Champion an environment that promotes GMF values and supports strategic objectives
- Develop relationships with key customer business and technical decision makers: drive long-term cloud data adoption within the company; enable cloud data advocacy

What makes you a dream candidate?
- Advanced knowledge of data engineering, cloud data architecture, data security, full-stack (dev ops, data dev ops, and dev secops) and related policies, standards, and best practices
- Working knowledge delivering large data engineering projects using Agile methods
- Working knowledge of APIs and web services (integrate systems, platforms and data sources)
- Ability to effvely translate above knowledge into practical and large-scale data engineering designs, architectures, strategies, policies, and processes and to implement them in a way that delivers on business objectives
- Ability to quickly research, learn and apply the latest advances in cloud architectures, data engineering, and related technologies
- Ability to collaborate and influence decisions with internal business/technical stakeholders and external vendors on complex enterprise cloud data and platform strategies
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate, challenge, organize and grow a team of distributed data architects and full stack engineers
- Ability to promote agile methods and to develop partnerships with leaders, peers, Release Train Engineers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, and other agile roles
- Ability to develop and implement data engineering architectures, serverless, data orchestration, API management, and related solutions through a deep understanding of Azure services – Azure Data Factory, Service Bus, ADLS2, Delta Lake, Cosmos DB, Synapse
- Software development practices like, DevOps and CI/CD tool chains, Azure DevOps, GitHub
- Programming in one or more of the following programming languages; Python, Scala, SAS, R, Ruby, Java and C
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required
- Master’s Degree preferred

Compensation: Competitive salary and bonus eligibility; this role is eligible for company vehicle program.
