Salary:$85,000 - $105,000

Position Summary:
The Portfolio Officeris responsible for overall asset management and reviewing loans in a portfolio consisting primarily of commercial real estate loans, multi-family and mixed-use loans, small business loans, non-profit loans, and loans to houses of worship.The Portfolio Officer will be contributing to the overall Lending work plan goals including (i) increasing the existing loan portfolio, (ii) retaining borrowers in the existing loan portfolio, and (iii) actively preventing attrition in the loan portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit timely annual credit reviews and risk rating evaluations of existing loans.
Manage a loan portfolio, while developing a relationship with each borrower.
Grow the existing loan portfolio by specified budgeted amounts annually.
Retain existing borrowers in the loan portfolio by actively preventing loan attrition.
Review financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, and cash flow projections.
Underwrite all loan and rate modification requests.
Underwrite loan extension and renewal requests.
Read and understand loan documents and implement corrective actions if borrowers are not in compliance with covenants, including implementing the default rate of interest for any non-compliance as warranted.
Prepare loan monitoring reports for each loan on a regular schedule to review overall asset quality, including performance against original underwriting expectations.
Conduct site visits as necessary and prepares site visit reports for loans in the portfolio in accordance with lending procedures.
- Provide information for monthly loan monitoring reports.
Skills needed:
Ability to underwrite commercial real estate loans, multi-family and mixed-use loans, small business loans, non-profit loans as well as loans to houses of worship
In-depth knowledge of credit quality and credit analysis
Proficient in analyzing financial statements of commercial real estate, multi-family, and business operations
Strong underwriting skills and ability to independently resolve complex credit issues and analyze credit risks
Ability to interact with borrowers, attorneys, accountants, appraisers, and any other external professionals as required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, relationship management, and business development skills, working with both private-sector financial institutions and public agencies
- Familiar with federal, state, and local government funding sources for capital and operating needs of multi-family housing, commercial real estate
Preferred Background/Experience
- College Degree with an equivalent of 5-8 years of experience in underwriting and analyzing commercial real estate and business loans
- Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
