About the Job
JOB: AllianceBernstein L.P. seeks AVP/ Quantitative Developer in New York, NY to develop, maintain, and support front-end tools & back-end processes to aid portfolio construction, optimization, and trade building. Develop and support existing systems for downloading market data from the various sources and managing the data repository. Work with Investment & Research teams to implement quantitative models including designing and implementing effective data quality controls around those models. Contribute towards centralized data warehouse infrastructure implementation and systematic strategies back testing framework. Simplify and automate existing manual processes. Assist with overnight batch jobs, ensuring timely completion and availability of all the necessary data daily. Aid in ad-hoc data mining and analysis requests from Investment teams and support major strategic technology initiatives to expand the firm’s investment research capabilities. Design and develop next generation research platform for multi-asset quant strategies. Review the IT landscape to identify gaps in systems and propose technical architectures that are dependable and scalable. Innovate to bring modern & emerging relevant technologies to upgrade technology infrastructure. Must appear in office 3 days a week. Work from home permissible 2 days a week.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Anysuitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.SKILLS: Experience and/or education must include the following:1.Development using high level object oriented programming languages (such as C#, Python or Java)2.Development and maintenance of data warehouse using relational SQL or NoSQL databases3.Development, support and maintenance of automated data processes/work flows dealing with financial data used in areas such as securities trading, portfolio analytics or risk management4.Building & maintenance of front end systems using JavaScript based web framework/technologies5.Data analysis using SQL, Python, Pandas, NumPy, and workflow automation systems 6.Version control & software management tools, including but not limited to: Git, Jira, Confluence and automated CI/CD pipelines; and Knowledge of algorithms & data structures.LOCATION: 1345 Avenue of The Americas, New York, NY 10105; Must appear in office 3 days a week.
