The AWS Architect will be an integral part of the Infrastructure Technology Services team, dedicated to elevating our company's global business initiatives and client experiences. In this dynamic role, you'll provide cutting-edge technology architecture and support services, driving innovation and excellence across our global cloud infrastructure operations. You will work independently collaborating directly with company management, vendor personnel, audit advisors and local/international IT staff. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Infrastructure Technology Services team, and receives direction from the VP of Technology Operations, and CIO regarding corporate objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of our AWS foundational footprint.
- Monitor and manage implementation to ensure high quality and alignment with defined requirements.
- Deliver quality results in cross-functional work environments and teams.
- Provide recommendations for solutions in the areas of DevOps, Security, Governance, CI/CD, and/or Containerization.
- Maintain knowledge of current systems architecture and configuration.
- Infrastructure and Commercial Applications documentation (as built, procedures, network).
- Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives.
- Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs.
- Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible.
- Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
- Incidence management and root cause analysis.
- Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
- 10+ years' experience working in IT within a highly matrixed, complex organization.
- 5+ years architecting, implementing, and supporting AWS infrastructure and topologies.
- Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking and cloud-based services for business teams or consumers.
- Deep product knowledge and understanding of product features including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Solutions.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery principles, patterns, and usage.
- Experience configuring and tuning virtual private clouds.
- Experience supporting Production applications or workloads in a cloud-based environment.
- Performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques.
- Experience with networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies).
- Practical experience sizing hardware and storage needs.
- Strong analytical problem-solving ability.
- Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
- Experience working on Linux based infrastructure.
- Experience working on Windows based infrastructure.
- Experience with PowerShell or Bash shell scripting.
- Experience with information security and data privacy, including Safe Harbor data protection standards, is a huge plus.
- Fluency with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Fluency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
- Fluency in web standards like HTTP, JSON and RESTful APIs.
- Fluency with source code management tools (Git, AWS CodeCommit).
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (DynamoDB, MySQL, MongoDB, MSSQL).
- Familiarity with a high-level scripting language (Python, Ruby, PHP, etc).
- Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
- Ability to work independently without extensive oversight.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills.
- Positive customer service attitude.
- Organized and focused on quality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- An undergraduate degree in Information Technology or related field is highly desirable. Relevant certifications (such as AWS Certified Security, etc.) are also very desirable for this position.
