Engineer Summary
Responsibilities include the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures within primarily an AWS environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve security issues across cloud infrastructure, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and systems.
- Security Tools Management: Build, deploy, and manage security tools and services to safeguard cloud environments.
- Process Design: Design and implement scalable processes for provisioning cloud access, ensuring efficient and secure user management.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain a reliable, low-touch, and user-friendly cloud infrastructure that supports security and operational requirements.
- Alert Evaluation: Evaluate and respond to alerts and events from security tools, tuning configurations to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
- Event Response Documentation: Develop comprehensive event response documentation and processes, including system environment diagrams and cloud operations security tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, architects, engineering teams, vendors, and compliance officers to execute and refine security strategies.
- Security Assessment: Consistently assess current cloud security measures and best practices, proposing improvements or solutions to enhance overall security posture.
- Architecture Review: Review cloud architecture and design from a security perspective, providing actionable and timely recommendations.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably within AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for change management and automated security testing.
- Proficiency in deploying and customizing security tools such as vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
- Experience developing software with object-oriented languages like Python, Java, C++, or Ruby.
- Ability to write SQL queries and create dashboards and reports.
- Extremely strong communication and collaboration skills.
- NIST or ISO Certification is preferred.
Additional Details:
- Employment Type: Direct-Hire Position
- Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
- Start Date: Immediate
- Location: Memphis, TN
- Target Compensation: $125k to $155k based on skills and experience
- Employment Status: No form of Corp-to-Corp or Employment Sponsorship is being considered.
