Job Description:
COVID-19 vaccination is recommended but not required. Flu vaccination will be required October through April. Flu exemption applications must be received and approved by Phoenix Children s prior to starting. Anyone not vaccinated for either Flu or COVID-19 will be required to sign Declination & Masking Protocol agreements and must mask during the full respiratory virus season.
Job Summary:
This position provides outpatient orthopedic & sports physical therapy services primarily to a pediatric population from school age through adolescence/young adulthood. The applicant should be adept and comfortable independently managing the complete continuum of professional services from patient access to appropriate coding and billing practices according to legal/ethical guidelines and hospital policy. Performs evaluations, program planning, and treatment of patients using exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electrical stimulation, thermal modalities, etc. specific to age, athletic activity, and developmental/functional level determined by assessment. This position will demonstrate an understanding of billing and coding practices as appropriate for professional outpatient services and its revenue cycle.
Education Requirements:
BS or higher degree from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.
Experience Requirements:
Sports/Orthopedic physical therapy setting
2 years experience treating, coaching or teaching ages 7-18
2 years of athletic experience as a player, coach, official, etc., preferred
Certification/License/Registry Requirements:
Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy license, prior to start date
BLS for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association prior to start date.
Holds, or is eligible to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) to render and bill for independent professional services prior to start date.
PREFERRED Certification/License/Registry:
Certified Clinical Specialist (SCS, OCS)
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
Dry Needling Certification
Tool Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization Certification
Kinesiology or Specialty Taping Certification
