Position Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Azure Data Architect to join our team. With a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. As an integral member of our team, you will participate in data strategy and roadmap exercises, data architecture definition, business intelligence/data warehouse product selection, design, and implementation. You will also play key roles in large projects, serving as a Senior Data Modeler, Technical Lead, and Data Architect. This is a hybrid role absed in Phoenix, AZ.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design: Collaborate with multiple Software Engineering teams to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and constraints. Design scalable and cost-effective cloud architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure services. Develop solution blueprints, architectural diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Architecture Development: Ensure solutions align with industry best practices, security standards, and compliance regulations. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to development teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Data Management: Define standards for how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across the organization. Work through all stages of a data solution lifecycle: analyze/profile data, create conceptual, logical & physical data model designs, architect and design ETL, reporting, and analytics solutions. Serve as a subject matter expert for the organization on various data warehouse products available in Azure.
- Data Accuracy and Accessibility: Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, constantly monitoring and refining the performance of data management systems.
- Technical Leadership: Participate and provide technical leadership in all phases of a project from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery. Work closely with DBAs, Developers, and Project Managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with modern enterprise data architectures and data toolsets (e.g., data warehouse, data marts, data lake, 3NF and dimensional models, modeling tools, profiling tools).
- Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Experience in data integration using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Azure Synapse.
- Strong experience in architecture design and development using Microsoft Azure Data Services such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and no-SQL platforms.
- Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
- Knowledge of data architecture and design patterns and the ability to apply them.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Transportation industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working with Agile Teams utilizing Scrum.
