About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Ingredient Preparation: Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients for various bakery products according to recipes and production schedules.
- Food Safety: Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of ingredients to prevent contamination.
- Equipment Operation: Use and maintain bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters. Ensure all equipment is cleaned and serviced regularly.
- Batch Production: Assist in the production of doughs, batters, fillings, and other components. Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistency and quality.
- Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient inventory levels and communicate with management to reorder supplies as needed.
- Quality Control: Check finished products for quality and consistency. Make adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other bakers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely production of baked goods.
- Cleaning: Perform regular cleaning tasks, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and keeping the kitchen organized.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a bakery or food preparation role is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of baking techniques and food safety practices. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items (up 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
