Position Purpose:
This position will specialize in individual one-on-one training to help foster employee retention, growth, employee development, and career movement within the Credit Union. The Training Specialist will be responsible for training current employees in line with UHFCU’s strategic goal. Duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing all training manuals for accuracy and consistency in formatting and presentation, creating training manuals as well as conducting training. The Training Specialist will also ensure that all training materials are updated and maintain all training logs for the credit union on all learning and digital platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Updating existing training manuals.
- Develop a wide range of training and development programs that meet the Credit Union’s needs, including department and position specific needs.
- Work with department Managers to build training programs for employee growth and development.
- Maintain the new digital platforms by keeping up to date with records, reports, and training offers.
- Maintain and manage all digital procedures and programs online by ensuring current and relevant information is stored and accessible.
- Work with Managers to build department related procedures and uploading procedures to a digital platform.
- Maintains tracking system for all employee training and consolidates monthly and year-end.
- Be a resource to management by researching/developing training for existing/new tools to better service members and ensure that employees are utilizing the core system to the fullest. Also, make recommendations to automate manual processes to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout the credit union.
- Research, develop, and write material for new and current training programs, evaluate, and modify existing and proposed programs and recommend appropriate changes by department.
- Performs other work as needed.
Performance Standards:
The following duties are completed in an accurate and timely manner:
- Update existing training manuals. Review releases and updates on our Core system.
- Develop training programs as directed by Management.
- Maintain training tracking system.
- Positive feedback on training evaluations.
- All training is conducted in a professional manner.
- Positive feedback in coordinating other outside training classes.
- Develop and provide a minimum of hours per Strategic Plan goal for Product/Service Knowledge training to employees on an annual basis.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Required Knowledge:
Must be knowledgeable in MS Office Suite.
Experience Required:
Two years training experience.
Two years public speaking or group presentation experience.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills.
Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
Able to create spreadsheets and analyze data.

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry-out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving variables.

Able to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using a calculator.
Language Ability:
Able to write complex sentences using normal word order with present and past tenses, as well as a command of the English vocabulary.
