We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banking Systems Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. Job Summary: This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data systems and AI solutions that support our banking operations. This role requires expertise in FIS IBS or similar mid-size banking systems data architecture, Snowflake or similar data warehouse technology, physical and logical data modeling, and leading teams of peers in the development and delivery of user requirements analysis for reporting, analytics, AI-driven solutions and customer data integration to various surround and supporting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data System Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust data systems using IBS banking data and Snowflake data warehouse technology.
- Data Modeling: Create, optimize and maintain physical and logical data models to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- User Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for reporting, analytics, and AI, ensuring data solutions meet business needs. Recommend advanced data integrations, modeling and AI as best suited to enhance and provide future state data and analytics architectures.
- Data Integration: Design, develop and implement data integration processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems and throughout downstream data consumption.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data system performance, ensuring high availability, reliability and security.
- Data Quality Assurance: Implement data quality checks and validation processes to maintain data integrity. Coordinate data flows and integrated optimization with RTC’s Data Governance architecture and provide production integration archetypes for management of CDE consumption for all downstream data consumers.
- Reporting, Analytics and AI: Develop and maintain reporting, analytics and AI solutions to support business decision-making, design and provide data oversight for downstream ODS data models in business operations.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data systems, processes, models and architectures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and data scientists, to deliver integrated data solutions. Support the IT Management team as required.
- Proficiency in FIS IBS and Snowflake data warehouse technology.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on banking systems.
Technical Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of data warehouse and lake architecture design and implementation
- Strong knowledge of physical and logical data modeling.
- Experience with SQL and other database management systems.
- Familiarity with data integration tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, Gen-AI and reporting tools.
- Experience with big data engineering tools such Spark, DBT and Kafka
- Proficiency in setting up MLOps and Gen AI infrastructure
- Experience with design and deployment of AI-driven data quality and governance solutions
- Familiarity with implementation of data architectures that support embedded analytics and AI engines
- Knowledge of AI-powered data engineering tools for tasks such as data cleaning, transformation, and anomaly detection.

- FIS IBS banking systems detailed data structures experience.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Certification in data engineering or related fields.
