Job Summary:
A Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service during special events, banquets, and catering functions. They play a key role in ensuring guests have a positive experience by serving food and beverages, setting up and clearing tables, and maintaining a high standard of service throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Preparation: Assist in setting up banquet halls and event spaces, arranging tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary items according to event specifications.
- Service Excellence: Provide professional, efficient, and courteous service to guests during events. Serve food and beverages, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Table Maintenance: Clear tables promptly, reset them for the next course, and ensure that tables are clean and properly arranged throughout the event.
- Communication: Collaborate with the event coordinator and kitchen staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Guest Interaction: Interact with guests, respond to their requests, and address any concerns or special requests to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Adherence to Standards: Follow established service and safety guidelines, including food handling, alcohol service, and health and safety regulations.
- Clean-Up: Assist in breaking down event spaces after the function, ensuring all items are stored properly and the space is left clean and orderly.
- Teamwork: Work closely with other banquet servers and event staff to maintain a cohesive and efficient service team.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a similar role is beneficial but not always required; on-the-job training is often provided.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding event environment.
- A strong customer service orientation and a pleasant, professional demeanor.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays and items as needed.
