BAR BACK:
BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Supports the bar staff by stocking and ensuring the cleanliness of the area, helping with dishes, rotating glassware, and bussing when needed.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to the safety committee.
- Replenish all bar stock items as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar, storage, and work areas.
- Always maintain a sense of urgency.
- Support the bartenders and cocktail servers as necessary.
- Responsible for checking identification at the door and helping to control the flow of traffic into the bar.
- Assist guests find appropriate seating for themselves and/or their group
- Assist bar staff ensuring we are not over crowded at any time and helps to maintain a sense of order at the door when guests are waiting to be seated
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Experience helpful, not required. Must be able to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Must have valid OLCC service permit and working knowledge of OLCC regulations.
- Must have valid Food Handler's card and meet health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
- A consistent positive attitude towards the guests as well as towards co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to perform your duties with a minimum of supervision and handle multiple priorities and tasks.
- Ability to manage stress appropriately, to make decisions under pressure, to manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and TMCH drug-free work place policies.
