Position Title: Bar Operations Supervisor
Reports To: Dining Operations Manager
Position Summary: The Bar Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club's bar areas, ensuring exceptional service, inventory management, and compliance with health and safety standards. This role focuses on leading bar staff, managing bar inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with the creation of bar menus. The Bar Operations Supervisor works closely with the Dining Operations Manager to provide high-quality experiences for members and guests.
Core Responsibilities:
Bar Operations Management:
-Oversee the daily operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures.
-Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling bar staff in coordination with Human Resources and the Dining Operations Manager.
-Ensure consistent, high-quality service by managing and mentoring bartenders.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar, including managing glassware, juices, and garnishes.
-Monitor the cleanliness and maintenance of bar areas and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
-Conduct regular bar inventory counts and manage liquor requisitions to maintain adequate stock levels.
-Collaborate with the Dining Operations Manager to develop seasonal and event-specific bar menus.
-Manage all beverage pricing to align with profit goals, coordinating with the Dining Operations Manager for adjustments as necessary.
-Handle bar-related operational tasks such as managing Multiflow systems, CO2, and nitro kegs.
Team Leadership and Training:
-Lead by example to cultivate a positive, team-oriented culture among bar staff.
-Develop and implement training programs for bar staff on service standards, new drink recipes, and club policies.
-Create staffing schedules, ensuring adequate bar coverage during peak periods, events, and holidays.
-Foster a collaborative working relationship with dining room staff to ensure smooth service throughout all areas of the club.
Event and Banquet Support:
-Assist with event setup, working with the Dining Operations Manager to prepare bar areas for special events and banquets.
-Collaborate with event planners and dining room staff to coordinate bar services during club events.
-Train all bar staff is trained on event-specific cocktails, drink offerings, and service requirements.
Inventory and Financial Controls:
-Conduct weekly and monthly liquor inventories, ensuring accurate counts and timely restocking.
-Manage bar inventory levels, submitting orders as needed to maintain par levels.
-Track sales performance and work with the Dining Operations Manager to adjust pricing or menu offerings based on demand and profitability.
-Maintain adherence to liquor laws and regulations, monitoring staff for compliance with club policies and legal requirements.
Experience/Requirements:
-2-3 years of bar or beverage management experience, preferably in a private club or high-end hospitality setting.
-Strong leadership skills with experience training and supervising staff.
-Familiarity with a wide range of alcoholic beverages, drink preparation techniques, and bar equipment.
-Ability to work collaboratively with dining and event staff to ensure seamless service.
-Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
Schedule Expectations:
-The Bar Operations Supervisor must be available to work during peak hours, weekends, holidays, and special events.
-Flexibility for extended workdays during busy periods.
Minimum Physical Job Requirements:
-Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
-Ability to stand and move behind the bar for up to 12 hours.
-Ability to perform tasks requiring quick mobility for extended periods during events.
