The Bradley is seeking an experience Bartender for our onsite restaurants: Birdie's and Arbor.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Bartender will contribute to the mission and success of the hotel by creating exceptional ways of personalizing and providing the best guest service in the hospitality industry and ensuring our high standards of service are met. The Bartender will provide prompt and courteous service and quality beverages to all guests, encouraging the guest to return again which will generate repeat business. The Bartender is responsible for providing quality guest services that include providing a positive first and last impression and a friendly, upbeat and clean atmosphere to every guest. When servicing guests, the Bartender is responsible for being professional, friendly, and helpful, using the "Five Hospitality Standards" of eye contact, a smile, speak first, engage in polite conversation, and use the guest's surname. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
- Efficiently and properly performs all service and sequences of service standards.
- Sets up and breaks down the bar area.
- Performs accurate cash and POS procedures.
- Counts bank on a daily basis.
- Maintains inventory at par levels.
- Greets and acknowledges with a smile guests promptly and in a friendly manner.
- Recognizes repeat guests, welcomes them back.
- Addresses guests by surname whenever possible.
- Prepares and serves drinks according to recipes for guests and servers.
- Ensures standardization and consistent beverage preparation, presentation and quality.
- Responsibility to sell on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new strategies for increasing the check average of each guest.
- Responsible to “up sell” on any given opportunity.
- Retains and maintains complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
- Using the Bar Food menu as another selling tool.
- Checks identification for proof of age when required.
- Builds a rapport with guests while serving them.
- Monitors guest’s drinks and anticipates guest’s needs.
- Provides food service as appropriate.
- Keeps Bar counter clean at all time.
- Ensures proper payment from departing guests.
- Invites and welcomes guests back upon completion of their visit.
- Prepares bar for next shift.
- Performs accurate cash/credit handling and POS procedures in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensures the order and cleanliness of the bar is in accordance to health and safety regulations.
- Must be knowledgeable about Hotel, Restaurant/Lounge and surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, stores, hotels, etc.
- Performs all duties and sequences of service in adherence to standards.
- Must have the ability to provide friendly, courteous and professional service to all internal and external customers/guests, at all times.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
- Must have the ability to report to work on time and on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience desired at a high volume restaurant experience preferred. Fine dining/bar experience preferred.
