The F&B Bartender is often seen as the face of an establishment, interacting and socializing directly with guests. Often deemed a mixologist, the bartender is primarily responsible for serving delicious, meticulously mixed drinks to guests, however, they also promote a safe and welcoming working environment to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and they provide table and dining room clean up and support in all areas of the restaurant.

Are a master mixologist; part artist, part mad scientist. You are a team player, always working in tandem with guests and restaurant staff “Like a Boss”. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being kept on your toes. You are a natural-born listener and inquirer who can pick up on all subtle and not-so-subtle needs of each potential, current, and returning guest. You have an uncanny way of reading minds; anticipating guest needs, responding to and acknowledging all guests as they sit, and making fabulous drinks to request.
What You Will Tackle:
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
Greet guests and introduce them to menu options and items.
Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
Take orders from guests or other wait staff as required.
Maintain and clean the bar area and bar equipment.
Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the bar and tables are well-stocked.
Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
Have a thorough understanding of state liquor laws; always ensuring guests are of legal drinking age, and preventing over serving according to the law.
Report all accidents and breakages to the F&B Manager or Executive Chef in charge.
Adhere to relevant Food Safety Hygiene standards.
Remain up to date on current safety issues to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Work in a safe manner and abide by OSHA regulations and the Hotel’s policies in regard to accident and incident reporting procedures.
Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
Other duties as assigned.
The Essentials:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Professional in appearance and demeanor.
Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Knowledge of food and beverage service operations preferred but not required.
State Alcohol Serving Certificate and State Food Handlers Certificate.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math.
Must have State Issued Food Handler's Certificate.
Must have State Alcohol Server Certification.
