Located at 701 Washington Street, Hotel 1928 is the historic restoration and adaptive reuse of the former Grand Karem Shrine Temple Building. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Bartender plays a pivotal role in creating memorable experiences for our guests by making drinks and delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring the responsible service of alcohol, and contributing to the overall ambiance of our restaurants and bars.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Mix and Serve Drinks: Prepare a wide range of beverages, from classic cocktails to custom creations, ensuring that each drink is made to the highest quality and consistency
- Customer Engagement: Welcome patrons, take orders, and engage in friendly conversation. Provide recommendations and offer a personalized experience.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels, restock supplies, and order ingredients as needed to maintain a well-stocked bar.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the bar area is clean and organized, including proper storage of glassware, utensils, and garnishes.
- Handle Payments: Accurately process customer payments, including cash, credit cards, or mobile payments, and provide correct change when necessary.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local and state alcohol regulations, including checking IDs and refusing service to intoxicated customers.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate orders and deliver a seamless dining experience.
- Safety: Follow safety protocols, such as handling glassware and equipment safely, and promptly addressing any safety concerns.
- Upselling: Suggest premium or additional items to boost sales, such as offering wine pairings or promoting special drinks.

You have exceptional interpersonal skills. You're friendly, approachable, and attentive to customer's needs. You have a deep understanding of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and how to make them. You have the ability to stay cool under pressure are a master multitasker.

Qualifications
- At least two years experience working as a bartender
- Deep understanding of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including their ingredients, proportions, and preparation methods
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- The ability to multitask, handle multiple orders simultaneously, making drinks quickly and accurately, while giving exceptional customer service
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of alcohol laws with an understanding of the importance of responsible alcohol service and following all laws and regulations
- Quick to find solutions to problems
