ABOUT THE JOB
The BAS Sales Engineer will serve as the liaison between Applied Controls and their customers. Their core priority is addressing customers' needs and concerns as quickly and effectively as possible to develop and maintain strong relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Estimate, bid, and sell Building Automation/Controls construction, service, and PM agreement opportunities.
Drive sales of Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and Carrier open protocol Building Automation Systems.
Routinely call on and maintain/strengthen relationships with existing Applied Controls customers to drive service sales.
Manage projects sold and work diligently/negotiate with customers, General Contractors, Applied Controls Engineers, Technicians, and Subcontractors to complete projects efficiently and under the estimated budget.
Attend project construction meetings and maintain relationships with General Contractors as necessary.
Train, develop and advise other sales engineers, technicians and management as necessary.
Assist other Sales Engineer's with estimating and bidding as required.
Work with Air Comfort Sales Engineers to address Air Comfort's in-house needs and generate additional revenue from Air Comfort projects.
Track project's lost; find competitive position in the market and ways to improve bidding experience.
Make contact with school districts, public entities, hospitals, engineers, architects and new potential customers to qualify Applied Controls as an authorized control contractor for Honeywell, Carrier, and Johnson Controls open protocol systems.
Attend industry related meetings and events to represent Applied Controls and drive sales.
Build a data base of existing Honeywell, Carrier, and Johnson Controls open protocol buildings in the Chicagoland area and provide to Business Development Manager for marketing purposes.
Work Closely with customers, architects and engineers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a technical sales role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
Minimum of 2-3 years of Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience.
Strong understanding of HVAC principles, equipment, and applications.
Proficiency in building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Working knowledge of HVAC software (e.g., AutoCAD) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to build rapport with clients and identify their needs.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
