Laboratory Technician

We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Laboratory Technician in Southfield, MI.

Responsibilities:

·Primary responsibility of supporting the development of solutions for the Coatings Industry.

·The position is working in a chemistry lab.

·Duties include, but are not limited to, mixing chemicals, testing samples, and documentation.

Requirements:

·1 year Laboratory Experience

·Previous experience in Paint environment

·Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable with email, MS Word and MS Excel.

·Experience in laboratory activity - performance experiments and familiarity with basic chemical mixing is required.

·Basic knowledge of chemical instrumentation required.

·Basic knowledge of chemical compatibility required.

·Basic knowledge of chemical handling and chemical storage required.

Must have a valid driver's license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.

Education: Associates or Bachelors

Location: Southfield, MI 48033

Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $24.00 – 25.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8hr Days

Length of Assignment: Contract to hire
