Maintenance Technician I

We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Maintenance Technician I in Southfield, MI.

Responsibilities:

· Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.

· Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)

· Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.

· Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.

· Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed.

· Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)

· Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.

· Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)

· Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed.

Requirements:

· 2-3 years maintenance experience is required.

· Must be able to dry wall, mud, paint, basic landscaping, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, and be willing to porter like activities among other similar activities requested by our customers within the building.

· Must be able to regularly lift 40 lbs.

· Experience in facilities maintenance and knowledgeable with electrical, pipefitting, Sheetmetal work, masonry, painting, & carpentry is a plus.

Must have a valid driver's license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.

Education: HS Diploma or GED

Location: Southfield, MI 48033

Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Work Schedule: M-F, 8AM to 4:30PM

Length of Assignment: Contract - Hire
