Beautician/Barber - HumanHire

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Beautician/Barber to join our client's team in their Nursing Home. In addition to hairstyling and barbering services, this role involves maintaining supplies, recording essential service information, and fostering a positive, welcoming atmosphere that contributes to the residents’ quality of life.

This is a temporary position, lasting 3-4 months.

What's in it for you?

• Pay: $20-25/hr, weekly pay!
• Location: New Hyde Park, NY
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5:30pm

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the Beauty Shop in line with facility policies.
• Operate beauty equipment safely and effectively, respecting residents’ rights and choices.
• Cater to diverse beauty needs of multiethnic and varied age residents.
• Complete beauty tasks independently and on schedule, maintaining technical proficiency.
• Maintain organized records essential for beauty service operations.
• Clean and organize equipment daily; provide hairstyling based on resident preferences.
• Apply chemicals for treatments safely and competently.
• Report service needs and incidents promptly to the supervisor.
• Attend training to stay updated on policies and procedures.
• Respond sensitively to residents' needs; other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed by the State of New York in cosmetology
• Proven experience as a Hair Stylist or similar role with expertise in hair styling or barbering
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
