Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Part-Time Behavior Technician at our Adolescents Stride Program in American Fork, Utah. Stride is a partial-day treatment program that is part of Wasatch Behavioral Health. Stride is an after school skills development program for children ages 5-12 that are needing extra support with social, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Some of the common diagnoses we see include trauma-related disorders, Anxiety, ADHD,Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, depression,etc. We get referrals from the family clinics at WBH, school districts in the area, DCFS, and sometimes self-referrals.

Make a difference as a Behavior Technician
As a new Behavior Technician at Wasatch Behavioral Health, you can expect to work closely with individuals to implement behavior plans and interventions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include observing and recording client behaviors, providing feedback to the treatment team, and assisting clients with daily living skills. You will have the opportunity to participate in team meetings, receive ongoing training, and collaborate with other professionals in the field. We provide transportation to pick the kids upfrom home or an agreed-upon pick up location, and bring them to our various locations where we hold therapeutic and skills development groups with the kids. After group, we transport them to a drop-off location in their area. There are generally 8-12 kids in a group at a time. Each group is led by a Case Manager, and has 3-4 Human Service Workers when fully staffed. As a Human Service Worker, your job would include helping us with transportation, and facilitating the groups and activities we do with the kids. While the kids are here, each day you will be assigned to work directly with about 1-3 kids. For your assigned kids, your job is to model appropriate skills and behavior for them, to prompt them to use appropriate behavior and skills of their own, to check in with them about their goals and document their progress, to help us teach skills lessons to the kids, to coach them on self-regulating if they start to become upset, to manage their behaviors and to facilitate our token economy with them.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to working with individuals with behavioral challenges. These positions require you to be 21 years of age, with a valid driver's license, and be willing/able to drive a company 15-passenger van for transportation. They also require having reliable transportation to/from work, and a willingness to cover shifts in various locations from time to time, including Saratoga Springs, American Fork, Provo, and Payson.
The schedule for this role is Part Time Monday through Friday, from 1:00pm to 7:00pm during the school year, and 9:00am-4:00pm during the summer. This schedule should allow for a consistent and structured work routine for you to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. We offer a competitive wage, ranging from $15.93-$20.19 per hour.
