Job Summary
The Behavioral Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the department, ensuring optimal patient care, and managing fiscal responsibilities. The role also includes greeting, instructing, directing, and scheduling patients and visitors, acting as a liaison between patients and medical support staff, and managing intake processes for Behavioral Care services. This position requires collaboration with Prevea providers to manage patient care, particularly in behavioral health, and to ensure patients are connected with the appropriate resources and services.
What you will do
- Performs full range of leadership responsibilities which include, but is not limited to; interviewing, hiring, coaching, and developing employees; managing performance and any performance issues; planning, assigning, and directing work; encourage innovation, teamwork, fiscal responsibility, high-quality work, and a positive/productive work environment. Front line management and problem solving of staffing gaps, scheduling, and performance concerns.
- Analyzes and recommends changes in department processes, systems, and procedures to increase efficiencies in the department. Implement solutions to improve department functions.
- Process referrals sent to Behavioral Care --Gather information on patients' initial needs and direct referrals to the appropriate services or care providers. Review referrals for acuity of care needs.
- Collaborate with Prevea providers to manage patients or families regarding prevention, early identification and treatment of mental or emotional problems. Follow up with referring Prevea provider on the outcome of the Behavioral Care contact.
- Supports clinic wide customer service initiatives and serves as a customer service role model. Reviews customer satisfaction data with physicians and staff, and assists in identifying opportunities for change and improvement. Responds to customer complaints in a timely manner according to the Quality Resources Policy.
- Assess ability of Behavioral Care to provide services or need to refer patient out to community services. Discuss and inform patients on insurance eligibility. Assist Medicaid patients with access to mental health care and other social services thru community resources.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or GED Required
- 2 years Work experience within a healthcare setting Required
- 1-3 years Leadership experience Preferred
- Capable of assisting in the implementation and advising of process change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors

- Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands
