So, what is that work we speak of?
The Behavioral Health Clinical Director is a key player in our growing D.C. team. In particular, you’ll be responsible for developing, planning, and supervising OSH's Behavioral Health services to improve the quality of life for the clients we serve. The Director will represent OSH by answering any questions posed by families, staff members, government officials or the general public and support the branch office’s Behavioral Health service line to ensure the Agency’s scope of services and policies comply with State, Federal, Local laws/regulations and implemented across internal and external staff.
Responsibilities
Some of what you can expect in this role…
- Oversee and monitor Behavioral Health Services in accordance with the Department on Disability Services (DDS), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and DC HCBS Regulations.
- Supervision of behavior treatment service integrity.
- Ongoing development of training programs for Behavioral Health staff and direct support professionals for the Behavioral Health Services program.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a continuous quality assurance and improvement system, that includes person-centered thinking, community integration, and compliance with the HCBS Settings Rules to evaluate the effectiveness of services provided.
- Work with Service Coordination Organizations in Individual Service Plan development and goals creation for consumers.
- Monitors OSH’s behavioral services program, identifying problems related to consumer services and making recommendations for improvement.
- Attends and participates in meetings and quality improvement activities as required.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring, training, development, evaluation and firing of behavioral health professionals to maintain appropriate staffing levels, as needed.
- Participate in conferences and research efforts dedicated to the field of behavioral health and implement changes to procedures as necessary.
- Manage efforts and initiatives to reach the needs of those in need of behavior services by involvement with networking events, public speaking, involvement in research, attend conferences and training on an ongoing basis.
- Development of company-wide trainings in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Oversee any future programs in other states.
- Follows Open Systems Healthcare’s Policies and Procedures
- Follows Federal, State, and local rules and regulations pertaining to home care services.
- On Call duties, as necessary

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the Social Services field or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience in a leadership role or equivalent management experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
OR
- Five (5) years of experience in a leadership role or equivalent management experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Master’s degree in the Social Services field or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a leadership role or equivalent management experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Evidence of Tuberculosis screening that meets CDC guidelines.
