St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
Program Summary:
St. Vincent's Behavioral Health Services provides a continuum of care, beginning with an initial diagnosis and strengthening care by integrating it with collaborative treatment plans. A wide range of outpatient treatment programs is available for adolescents and adults with mental health and dual diagnosis disorders designed to help them reach optimal well-being while they continue to thrive in the community.
Job Summary:
Provides behavioral health counseling services
- Join an established interdisciplinary team that supports clinicians through clinical supervision, weekly clinical team meetings to review cases and interact with colleagues, professional development opportunities, committed focus on employee well-being, work-life balance, and professional growth, regular engagement with Department Medical Director & Administrator, and continuing education opportunities.
- As a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, the Psychiatric Clinician provides psychiatric evaluations of adult patients (18 years old and above) in a community based mental health clinic. Evaluations include: diagnosis, risk assessments, outcome measure tools and scales, case formulation, and treatment recommendations presented to a supportive treatment team lead by staff psychiatrists and peers.
- The Licensed Clinician provides individual, group, couples, and family therapy. Utilization of evidenced based practices are supported. Clinicians are encouraged to develop clinical specialty areas.
- A Clinician’s therapeutic work is supported through collaborative work with case managers and RNs.
- Career development and advancement is available for those who want to participate in department as well as Hartford Healthcare system committees. Experienced staff can explore opportunities to supervise clinicians in our intern program or potentially be selected to participate in leadership development training.
Qualifications
- Connecticut licensure in LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, CADC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LADC, or Psychologist required
- Master Degree in a mental health related field required.
- 2-years experience providing group therapy in behavioral health settings
- 1-year related experience working with adults with mental health issues, co-occurring disorders a plus
