PMH is currently looking to add a dedicated and compassionate member to our Behavioral Supports team in our Mt. Pleasant/Greensburg region. The Behavioral Specialist position is a full-time position under the direct supervision of the Program Administrator. The Behavioral Specialist is responsible for the implementation and oversight of care for the purpose of meeting the physical, emotional, behavioral, and social needs of individuals served. The Behavioral Specialist will carry out all Behavioral Support Services and duties aligned with those services according to the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) service description, including the development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Support Plans (BSP), Crisis Intervention Plans (CIP), and Restrictive Procedure Plans (RPP), as relevant to the client served

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BEHAVIORAL SPECIALIST:
- Provide Behavioral Support services to individuals served by PMH under the 55 Pa. Code Chapter 6400 (Community Homes for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Autism). May also provide services to individuals who are not served by PMH under the Consolidated, Person/Family Directed Support (PFDS), Base Funding, Community Living, or Adult Autism Waivers.
- Participate in client team meetings, including annual Individual Plan (IP) meetings, quarterly reviews, and additional consultation, as needed
- Complete an FBA for identified target behaviors, including a holistic consideration of all factors and variables relevant to the client and utilizing indirect and direct methods of information gathering and data collection
- Develop a BSP and CIP that incorporates person-centered strategies and least restrictive interventions, placing an emphasis on preventative and positive approach strategies
- Develop an RPP that identifies least restrictive interventions and present new plans and client progress in quarterly PMH Human Rights Team (HRT) meetings
- Provide direct and ongoing training and supports to the client, staff, and/or family members in the home and community settings
- Implement behavior tracking sheets, analyze data, and create visual displays of client progress
- Facilitate access to community resources for clients, families, and staff, as appropriate
- Evaluate service delivery in accordance with IPs and/or other relevant treatment plans
- Serve as a communication resource to staff, families, and guardians
- Obtain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and their application to the organization
- Ensure residential service locations are operating in compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with relevant management personnel to enhance individual and team progress and to achieve identified goals and objectives
- Act as agency representative, as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE BEHAVIORAL SPECIALIST:
- Minimum of 21 years of age, required
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, required
- Training in conducting and using a Functional Behavioral Assessment preferred (please state if this is completed in resume submission). Note: Candidates who have not completed this training will be required to do so upon hire
- Training in positive behavioral supports preferred (please state if this is completed in resume submission). Note: Candidates who have not completed this training will be required to do so upon hire
- Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or Gerontology. Note: Master’s level candidates preferred
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree and would work under the supervision of a professional who has a master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Gerontology, or who is a licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, professional counselor, social worker, or who has a Pennsylvania Behavior Specialist License
