SUMMARY:
Led by the organization's values and mission, the Benefits Account Manager is responsible for servicing clients in the employee benefits division. These tasks include building rapport, serving existing and potential customers, identifying their insurance needs, and coordinating the placement of benefit plans to meet those needs. The account manager's goal is to find solutions for our clients and ensure they are experiencing a positive client-company relationship.
WORK PERFORMED:
· Manage marketing process for new and renewal business.
· Analyze plan options; compare current plans to marketing results.
· Interpret data received from various carriers.
· Negotiate rates and plans.
· Recommend products based on clients' budgets, plan objectives, and benefits philosophy.
· Collaborate with agency broker to determine creative and effective benefit solutions.
· Organize an enrollment timeline for designated accounts.
· Coordinate client's specific enrollment strategy.
· Facilitate group meetings, face-to-face, or call center enrollments.
· Customize enrollment material and online solutions.
· Implement all elected enrollment material to carriers.
· Resolve complex, employer-level service requests, including billing, claims, eligibility, and compliance issues.
· Oversee the construction, implementation, and accuracy of contracts, benefits summaries, and SPDs.
· Keep current on industry trends and information related to new product development, legislation, and technology.
· Respond to all clients, carriers, and brokers in a timely manner.
· Guide clients on compliance issues.
· Be the agency liaison between the client, carrier, and broker daily.
· Manage client relationships at all levels within the company.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Ability to research, analyze and solve problems independently.
-Ability to have strong attention to detail.
-Ability to multi-task and complete multiple projects with little or no direction or supervision.
-Ability to plan, organize, implement, monitor, and adjust in a team-focused environment.
-Possess a sense of urgency to tasks.
-Effective negotiation and closing techniques.
-Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
-Great customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelor's degree in risk management, Business, or a related field
-Basic knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, and disability income coverages, products, and usages, as well as industry operations
-Life and Health Insurance License (obtain within 90 days)
