Overview
HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a Benefits Coordinator reporting to the Director, Benefits & Compensation. In this role, the Benefits Coordinator will act as employees’ main point of contact for benefits and wellness questions, and they will assist with any benefits-related projects. This position requires proactive, strategic thinking with hands-on execution of responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Main point of contact for employee benefits questions (medical, dental, vision, disability, flex spending, HSA, and others)
- Conduct new hire benefits check ins
- Lead benefits communications, including open enrollment communications, monthly tips, and miscellaneous benefits announcements
- Host information sessions with employees and vendors as needed
- Serve as a backup administrator for the employee time management system and payroll inputting
- Oversee leave of absence management
- Administer ADA accommodations requests
- Handle 401k administration and audit
- Assist with medical plan and program implementations
- Administer COBRA benefits and serve as point of contact for questions
- Process unemployment and workers comp claims
- Respond to all employment verification requests
- Manage retiree medical billing and administration
- Process invoices and checks
- Run ad hoc reports as needed
- Provide other administrative support as needed
Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of office experience, preferably in a Human Resources department, Benefits experience preferred
- Ability to work in our NYC office one day per week
- Interest in working in benefits
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with an HRIS system a plus
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (in writing and in person)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable with public speaking opportunities
The salary for this position is $55,000- $60,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
