SummaryThe Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing, customizing, and implementing Flow Control Group's health, welfare and retirement programs, as well as managing the organization's HR compliance and pay and benefits structures and monitoring competitive wage rates to develop or modify compensation plans as needed. The Human Resources Manager will demonstrate thought leadership and will continuously identify and implement opportunities and enhancements throughout their functional scope.
Essential Functions
Benefits
- Provides oversight on plan design, management and administration of the 401(k) plan, employee welfare benefits, compensation programs and other programs such as wellness programs, etc.
- In collaboration with our benefits broker, designs, develops, and implements benefits solutions that are aligned with FCG's strategy and competitive with the external market. Improves programs to meet business needs within budget.
- Manages the open enrollment process, including communications, negotiations, systems updates, employee training and education, vendor management and vendor files.
- Work with HRIS team to ensure benefits administration is operating effectively within HRIS, including updates for changes due to modifications in plans and setting up/managing automatic carrier file feeds as needed.
- In collaboration with our benefits broker and HRIS, provides data analysis to leadership on a regular and/or ad-hoc basis and provides recommendations for improvement to existing plans to fit the strategy of the business.
- Manages vendors and provides feedback regarding performance. Keeps senior leadership informed of any issues.
- Ensures benefits administration is in alignment with company policies and federal and state guidelines. Drives policy enhancement while ensuring legal compliance.
- Maintains benefit documentation for all carriers (contracts, invoices, COBRA, employee benefit/wellness guide), ensures filing of 5500's and distribution of benefit summaries as required.
- Develops, delivers and maintains effective employee communications, including but not limited to, training, benefits presentations, and benefits materials.
- Acts as a subject matter expert and all company point of contact for management of all benefit plans.
- Ensures benefits issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner while providing exemplary customer service.
- Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Review bills for accuracy, coding and coordination of payment.
- Serve as M&A lead on benefits integrations for new partners, including benefits comparisons, benefits education, etc.
Compensation
- Responsible for compensation areas such as incentive plans calculations and/or communications, base compensation programs, providing support for designated businesses, etc.
- Reviews and analyzes compensation plans and programs for cost effective and market competitiveness, external and internal equity and recommends changes.
- Leads the execution of compensation programs such as base salary, incentive compensation, annual review/increase process and executive compensation programs.
- Collects data and other relevant information to produce wage and salary reports.
- Manages timelines and project plans for compensation planning cycles.
- Builds and runs models for cost analysis for increases, wage compliance requirements, adjustments to structures and incentive plans.
- Develops and is responsible for detailed compensation reports to provide insights to HR and management based on these reports.
- Evaluates and monitors company-wide compensation programs.
- Assures legal compliance of compensation activities, policies and programs.
Compliance
- Serves as lead for HR compliance, including adhering to all applicable labor laws and regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Point of contact for annual acknowledgements for COC, Handbook, and other policies.
- Responsible for completion of various annual reports and surveys (EEO-1, OSHA 300A Form, Wage Surveys, etc.).
- Stays current of relevant developments in legislation/regulatory issues and other trends in areas of responsibility that may impact business operations and internal policies.
- Maintains, communicates and updates human resource documents, such as employee handbooks, as well as company policies.
- Handles all matters relating to FMLA, company paid leave, state leave, safety, workers compensation, unemployment administration, etc.
- Conducts HR process audits, identifies gaps, and recommends/implements remediation plans to mitigate risk
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years' experience managing benefits, compensation and compliance required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in benefits, compensation and compliance required.
- Experience in designing and managing cost efficient benefits programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) and wellness programs.
- Strong financial business acumen with ability to analyze data and develop recommendations to complex problems required. Actuarial experience highly desirable.
- Advanced understanding of rewards regulations, market trends, and program design, as well as legislation that may affect policies/practices, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable Department of Labor (DOL) and/or tax laws.
- Extensive knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
- Advanced experience and expertise in US employment laws, understanding and establishing actions to address Federal and State regulations, in-depth knowledge of STD, LTD, state-paid disability programs across various states, workers compensation, and accommodations.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office required, including proficiency in Excel required. Knowledge/experience with HRIS required, Ceridian Workday preferred.
- Strong communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Must enjoy working in a fast paced and high-volume position in which multi-tasking is a necessity.
- Ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
