Who should apply?

• Applications are accepted from full-time college students currently attending an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree or to complete a master's degree program full-time
• A four-year degree student should be completing sophomore, junior, or senior year
• A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is required to be considered for an internship
• Candidates pursuing studies in Safety & Health, Occupational Health, Human Resources Management, Risk Management, and/or related fields highly preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Benefits/Safety & Health Intern, you will have shared responsibilities within ERIE's Total Rewards' Enterprise Safety & Health and Benefits Departments. During the internship, you will:

• Assist in the development of the Enterprise Safety & Health mid-year report and present to said committee.
• Complete and present a mold risk assessment to ERIE Claims leadership.
• Complete various incident investigations.
• Perform site assessments of ERIE's Home Office campus, including our offices at Knowledge Park (Erie, PA)and Westport (Millcreek, PA)
• Conduct risk assessments for new positions, emerging risks, etc.
• Help coordinate and execute the service and retiree dinners.
• Review and make recommendations for updating ERIE's Employee Handbook.
• Assist with pre-Open Enrollment planning and tasks.
• Assist with coordinating changes to and the subsequent rollout of the updated Benefits SharePoint site.
• Provide additional assistance on tasks and events for ERIE's ME/WE Affinity Network's mental health campaign.

Qualifications

High school diploma, or equivalent, required. Pursuit of Bachelor's degree with completion of sophomore year in a relevant field required. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software preferred.
