About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with a leading non-profit in behavioral healthcare. With recent funding and a mission to become an employer of choice in the industry, they are seeking a dedicated Benefits Specialist to join their team. This role initially covers a leave of absence but has potential for long-term placement for the right candidate.
Job Description:
The Benefits Specialist will oversee and manage our client’s employee benefits and wellness programs, ensuring a positive employee experience and compliance with applicable regulations. This position involves coordinating FMLA, COBRA, Worker’s Compensation, retirement, and health initiatives, as well as working closely with employees and healthcare leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain benefits programs, including health, wellness, FMLA, COBRA, and Worker’s Compensation.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ERISA, ADA, FMLA).
- Communicate benefits information to employees, including eligibility, coverage, and enrollment details.
- Support employees with leave-of-absence requests and disability documentation.
- Assist with new-hire orientations, providing necessary benefits materials and information.
- Respond to inquiries about 401(k) enrollments, plan changes, and contributions.
- Partner with healthcare leaders to address benefits-related issues and support a positive employee experience.
- Train team members on their benefits options to ensure they understand and can use their benefits effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, including FMLA, COBRA, and Worker’s Compensation.
- Knowledge of HR compliance and federal/state benefits regulations.
- HR certifications (SHRM, PHR, or CEBS) are a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with benefits management systems, ideally UKG.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

- Hybrid work schedule with two days onsite (training is onsite and hands-on).
