ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The benefits specialist position assists team members with benefits enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains team member database, files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Administer various team member benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
- Resolve team member issues with benefits administrators and insurance providers
- Prepare and set up meetings designed to help team members obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required team member notices.
- Provide new hires with explanations of benefits and instructing them on enrollment and fulfillment procedures
- Consult with team members about eligibility, how to enroll, and other pertinent issues
- Ensuring that Milestone’s benefits policy is compliant with all laws and regulations
- Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.
- Maintain team member benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
- Assist team members with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
- Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Administer COBRA.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Send necessary reports and follow up on claims with team members and leadership
- Complete benefits reporting requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Must have 4+ years of benefit administration experience
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
