The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, short- and long-term disability, leave of absences, and wellness program.
This hybrid position is based at our office near the Galleria area, requiring in-office presence 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Communication company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants
- Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
- Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
- Coordinate transfer of data between Company and outsourced benefits administrator
- Prepare and submit monthly health savings accounts funding
- Assist with the open enrollment process including communications and PowerPoint presentations
- Prepare PowerPoint and benefit presentations for open enrollment
- Assist with Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting
- Process and administer leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Business and/or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of Human Resource related experience
- Professional CEBS Certification – Certified Employee Benefit Specialist
